Looking at the diary…

Book the hall

If you need help

No form, no membership, no conversation about God.

Four things this building does for people who need them. None of them requires you to come on a Sunday, and none of them will be mentioned to you afterwards.

  • Forty bags, Thursday

Thursday 09:00 to 13:00, kitchen door on the lane. No form, no membership. Rice, flour, oil, tinned fish, and whatever the bakers' co-op has made that week. Come to the kitchen door on the lane, not the church door, because the queue is shorter and nobody on the road can see you.

    Thursday
  • Fees, books and shoes

School fees and books, August and January. Ask for Sister Malcolm. We pay the school directly, which is quicker and saves you a conversation with the bursar. There is a limit to what we hold and it runs out, so ask in the first week of the month rather than the last.

    Aug & Jan
  • A service and the hall

We will bury anyone from this road whether or not they came here. The building costs you nothing, including the hall for the repast and the kitchen. The undertaker and the grave are not ours to give, but we will sit with you and work out what they will actually come to.

    Any time
  • Counselling, Friday

Counselling on Friday, by appointment, with someone trained. It is free. With someone trained who does not work here on any other day. Nothing said in that room is repeated in this building, including to the minister.

    Friday

Ring +1 876 926 3317 in the hours on this page, or knock on the office door at the side. If the office is shut, the note on it says who is in the building.

If you want to help

What is actually short.

Money is useful and is accounted for publicly. These are the things we run out of.

  • Forty bags a week takes about sixty pounds of it
  • The single most requested thing in the bag, and the one we most often cannot put in
  • Tinned, because it keeps and everyone knows what to do with it
  • Wednesday, ten in the morning, home by two. You do not have to cook for sixty; you have to be able to chop
  • Thursday morning, one hour, to take bags to four people who cannot get here
